Type of Event: Music Workshop
(English) This Live Music Now (LMN) Wales project will see a series of performances and a song writing workshop delivered with residents at Newydd Housing Association schemes.

The musicians will teach participants basic song writing skills, beat box techniques and how to use a loop pedal and use percussion.
During the workshop, the musicians will record samples of participants singing, rapping, beat boxing and playing percussion.
The aim of the project is to produce a final piece of music, using the samples collected, that challenges preconceived ideas of ageing and older people.
PLEASE NOTE This project is closed to the general public - for Newydd Housing Association residents/staff and family only.
Additional funding to carry out the project was received from Newydd Community Regeneration.

(English) In 1205, King John granted the Bishop of Llandaff an annual fayre at Whitsuntide. It continued until the 1880s when its reputation for 'drunkeness and debauchery' caused its demise.
In 2018, Llandaff 50+, in association with the Llandaff Society, is bringing back the May fayre, although rather more sedately!
Newly trained storytellers and guides, funded by Gwanwyn, will be on duty and there'll be medieval-style games, music and refreshments...and maybe even a visit from the Lord of the Manor!
