Afternoon, 2.00 – 4.00: Digital Photo Workshop, using Picasa, with Annwen Davies</p>
<p>Course tuition is free, incl. tea/coffee and biscuits, but participants will be asked to make some contribution towards costs of materials, where appropriate. A light lunch will be available between sessions at a reasonable price.</p>

<p><strong>Wednesday 9th May 2012</strong></p>
<p>Malcom Mellen will be leading a group project to create a flower garden from engraved and painted stones.  Malcom envisages working towards a collection of stones that can be exhibited in different locations in order to raise money for the air ambulance service.  Malcom will be giving an introductory lesson in planning your design, transferring it onto the stone and painting in the design tools provided.  Please bring some flat stones.  The local shale stone is easy to engrave and a good stone for beginners.</p>
<p>Rosamund Black, Annie and Adam who Spin knit and weave.  They will be giving an introduction to some of the basic techniques involved in converting raw fleece into yarn and from yarn to knitted crochet or woven cloth.</p>
<p><strong>Thursday 10th May 2012</strong></p>
<p>Christopher Rowlatt is a book binder and paper marbler.  He teaches all levels of bookbinding at the Presteigne bindery in Hereford Street.  Christopher will be demonstrating long stitch binding which is one of the many non adhesive binding techniques.</p>
<p>Rosamund Black will be giving an introduction to rag rug making.  Rosamund holds many textile related classes and finds that simple techniques can be adapted to create beautiful rugs and hangings.</p>
<p><strong>Friday 11th May 2012</strong></p>
<p>Malcom Mellin will be holding a second class to explore the techniques involved in decorating the stones.</p>
<p>Rosamund Black who teaches many trandition forms of quilting and patchwork will be giving instructions in Kantha quilting, a technique much used in India both for its decorative qualities and as a methd of recycling valuable cloth.  Bring some fine cotton or silk scraps.</p>
