Voices of Partition explores the tragic events surrounding the partition of India in 1947. The project (supported by Gwanwyn festival) is holding a number of ‘Sangats’ or debates at Chapter Arts in Cardiff.

This evening explores the stories of women in partition, uncovering a silent history of violence, migration and resettlement. The event features music from Panjabi folk singer Sanyogita Kumari and a talk by Dr. Pippa Virdee, senior lecturer in modern South Asian history at DeMontfort University.
