Art4u present a day of expressing creativity through music and art

On Saturday 26th May 2012, Art4u will be holding two drumming and percussion workshops in Victoria park, Barry. The workshops will be held from 12-1pm and 2-3pm. The workhops will be held by Glyn Pooley and everyone is welcome. Learn how to play some simple rythms and beats on the drums, and experience the fun of creating music together. ( No musical experience is necessary).
At the same time, Art4U will also have an arts tent in the park, whether you are 80 or 8 come along and express a bit of creativity. We invite you to make a token of friendship for the Friendship tree at Victoria Park.
This event has been funded by the organisation Age Cymru as part of their ‘Gwanwyn’ Festival.

‘Caethiwed Branwen – Stori Pwy?’ (It roughly translates as ‘Branwen’s Captivity – Who’s Story?’)

The performance is based on themes surrounding the story of Branwen from the Mabinogion with an original script written by the poet Mererid Hopwood and the choreography by Catherine Young. It is performed by 12 local women including Cwmni Dawns Rhuddem (for dancers 50+ years) and the story is told through movement, music and voice.
